When I’m not behind the camera, I try to spend every free moment with my family, preferably outdoors in nature or traveling to faraway places. My wife and I are always planning new adventures with our two wonderful daughters. We simply love exploring new places and getting to know different people and cultures. And of course, my camera is never far away.
Although I’ve been married myself for many years, I’ve always found weddings a bit strange. After all, if we’re being honest, two people in full possession of their mental faculties put on clothes that aren’t exactly practical for everyday life, stand in front of a usually complete stranger, slip rings onto each other’s fingers, promise to spend the rest of their lives together and often spend several months’ worth of salaries to do so.
Yes, looked at rationally, weddings really are quite strange. But what’s simply amazing there are the people. And because everyone brings their own personality, that’s exactly what makes each wedding celebration so unique and individual. It’s probably the only day in your life when you get to spend meaningful time with all the people who truly matter to you. And that’s what I love so much about weddings. That’s what deserves to be preserved.
Many years from now, when we’ve grown old, these images won’t just remind us of what we once looked like. In more difficult times, they will take us back to those moments when life felt simple and full of dreams and hope. And when we lose people close to us, the images are often the only thing that remains, allowing us to revisit those memories once more.
Photos are timeless. Photos are important!
I suppose that’s also why I take what I do so incredibly seriously. Because it’s about more than just creating beautiful images. I pour my whole heart into my work and into my couples, and I hope you’ll do the same when it comes to choosing the photographer for your wedding.
